We haven't ventured out at night much except for the first night we arrived when we went to the grocery store because we didn't want to put Andrew out in the colder weather with his being sick. But tonight marked our first night on the town. The N Seoul Tower is one of the most famous and spectacular tourist attractions in Seoul. I had read that it is even more amazing at night so that's where we were headed.
I had talked it over with Ngoai about going right after Papa got off work and we would eat dinner after we came home. But Papa worked a full and hard day at work and is still dealing with jet lag, so he opted to stay at home. And he had already been there with friends.
Since Andrew still was sleep deprived, I had told him that he needed to take a nap and rest so he could go. Andrew took a three-hour nap and woke up right at 5pm. It's like he has an internal clock sometimes.
He was so excited about the cable car and when he finally saw it, he got even more excited. So, we took the ride up to the tower via the cable car; and he loved looking out the windows. The view was incredible and I knew it was going to be even better up at the tower.
When we got up to the base of the tower, we stopped at the pavilion and took some pictures. Then, it was time to ride the elevators up to the observatory. Andrew was enthralled with the little movie they played on the elevator ceiling. It was a quick ride up and we were at the observation deck. We made our way around the whole deck looking at the city below us. It was really breathtaking; and I am so glad we did it at night.
Andrew was so ready to take the cable car down. It really was his absolute favorite part. But he seemed to really enjoy it all. He kept saying "This is so cool!" and "It's so beautiful!" He even asked if we could go again tomorrow.
