South Korea Day 3: Yeouido Park

Andrew slept until about 5am this morning. He sounded better, but was still congested. Thus, we decided it should be another low key day. We had breakfast downstairs and Andrew ate wonderfully again. I think he had eleven dumplings this morning beating yesterday's count!! He also had some cereal and part of a strawberry muffin.

After breakfast, we went back up to the room to get ready for the day. James said he would like to take Andrew to a playground somewhere. Luckily, the hotel is next to a big park here called Yeouido Park. And from the window in Ngoai's and Papa's room, we noticed they were having some event there so we decided to head there.

We quickly came upon the crowd and realized they were having some sort of race. There were lots of runners and walkers awaiting the start. Here, they didn't have a gun shot to start the race, but a couple of small firecrackers.

As we continued exploring, we found the Statute of the Great King Sejong. Next, we walked further along and came upon a lovely Samojeong (quadrangular pavillion) and Jidang (pond). Closeby, there was a beautiful stream and Palgakjeong (octagonal pavillion).

After taking some photos, we found the playground and let Andrew have some fun for a little while. Then, we walked back to the cultural plaza where they had battery cars that you could rent for the kids to drive. Andrew said he didn't want to go on it because there was no other kids there. But I told him it might be better for him to drive by himself so he wouldn't hit anyone. And even though he pretty much had a sour look on his face the whole time, he said he liked it.

We next headed back to the hotel to chill while Papa and Ngoai cooked some chicken for us for lunch. Then, we came back to our room so Andrew could take a nap--and he fell asleep pretty quickly. James and I watched some shows before we took a doze ourselves. I woke up four hours laters!!! Andrew and James slept for another two before waking up for dinner.

James and I had hoped that Andrew would wake up earlier than what he did and wake up feeling better, but neither of those happened. We had hoped to go down to N Seoul Tower tonight, but we will have to save that for another time. At this point, we just want him to get as much rest as possible and get healthy again.

Hopefully, we can all get some sleep here soon; and Andrew gets to feeling better.

FYI, the photo of Papa by himself in front of the buildings is significant because the white building with the red and blue sign is his office building.
