Holiday Magic

A couple of weeks ago, I had seen a little advertisement for Holiday Magic in Rice Village. It sounded like it might be pretty fun for Andrew. I mean they were going to Santa, a real reindeer, fake snow, face painting, a horse-drawn carriage, and train rides. Totally up Andrew's alley!

Prior to, I had to take Andrew to a follow up appointment at 4pm with his ENT, Dr. Raynor, just to check in his ear tubes (she said they both are still in and everything looks great). We finished up around 440pm and drove towards the Village and parked. We walked over to Santa and the reindeer thinking it might be best to go through that line first and it was on one far side of the activities. Andrew waited patiently to see Santa. Unfortunately, we couldn't pet the reindeer, but did get to see it up close. When it was Andrew's turn, he right straight to Santa's lap and told him "GeoTrax choo choo train." At least, he's consistent. :)

We then made our way to the trains and stood in line. The line wasn't too bad and we ended up riding it two times (green car the first ride and the caboose the second). Then, we saw Max, Rush, and Linda who were there with some of their friends. They wanted to ride the train too so I let Andrew go another time (this time, the blue car). Then, Daddy found us too!

On our way to the horse carriage area, the boys decided they wanted to check out the SWAT truck for a little bit. Then, we came upon the horse carriage line, which was still pretty lengthy (I had seen it when we first arrived). We waited a good while and the boys were getting antsy. Then, we were told that the carriage was going to take a leave of absence for about ten minutes to take Santa over to light the Christmas tree, but would be back to give more rides after. Daddy decided to Andrew to get his face painted, but ended up watching the tree lighting since Andrew said he wanted to do that instead. They also grabbed some pizza slices on the way too, which worked out well. Then, the carriage came back and it was finally our turn to ride. I am not sure it was quite worth the wait, but Andrew liked it enough so it worked out.

Once the ride was over, we took Andrew to get his face painted. Though, he ended up wanted to get it on his hand and he chose Santa over the snowman. Then, he said he wanted to see the Christmas tree again so we quickly walked over and looked at it for a little bit. And sure enough, on the way back to our car, we passed the train again and since the line was short, we let Andrew take another ride on it (this time the coal car since it was the only one still left available). Finally, we made our way to our car, dropped Daddy at the truck, and drove home. The little man must have been pretty tired because he conked out pretty fast!

We had a really nice time tonight. Everything was free, which was nice too and everything was organized fairly well. Andrew got to do all he wanted plus more (no fake snow though because Linda said it was pretty slushy and melted). Hopefully, we will be able to do this again next year!
