For today's season opener, the Longhorns were matched up against the Rice Owls--both of Daddy's alma maters. We had talked (first last year and then again a few months ago) about going to the game since it was here in Houston at Reliant Arena, but decided against it for lots of various reasons.
In the alternative, we decided to have people over to the house instead including Nonna who had also come into town for the weekend. Andrew was happy and hyper to have his Nonna and friends over. Andrew played good with Max, but there were definitely moments where Andrew could have shared better. But for the most part, he did behaved well. Though he got a little hyper, which could have been a sugar rush. And Andrew was really really good with Rush kissing, hugging, and patting on him as well giving him his burp cloth when it fell down.
Daddy made delicious grilled chicken sandwiches and Mommy made jalapeno ranch dip and sopapilla cheesecake. Andrew was also sweet to Max trying to feed him a couple of times much to Max's hesitation. I think Max wasn't sure why Andrew kept trying to feed him. But it was still very sweet of Andrew. He also had to make sure that the adults had food too helping to serve dessert.
As for the game, it was rather ugly, but the Horns pulled out the win. We definitely have lots of talent and potential, but we will need to improve before we start to play the harder teams.
