This morning, we were invited over for Gavin's 3rd birthday party at their neighborhood pool. Andrew was so excited when we told him where we were going. And to add that it was at the pool, he was doubly excited.
Andrea had warned us about some roadwork, but unfortunately, we still hit quite a bit of traffic on the way there. Fortunately, we had some entertainment to keep us occupied. Andrew would sing "Happy Birthday to You". I guess he wanted to practice before we got there. We finally arrived at the pool and Andrew searched out Gavin to tell him "happy birthday" before getting in.
Then, he was all about the swimming. He went under the mushroom, sat on the whale and sea lion, and rode down the frog slide. Drew was a little nervous at first and said "no", but ended up following Jack to do it. I wasn't sure if he was going to like it because he was going by himself falling into deeper water--something he hadn't done before. But he did it and liked it. He went on it again a few more times.
He had such a blast at the party as did we. We thought he would be so wiped out that he would crash on the way home, but he didn't. Instead, he waited until his bed after we got home. We spent the rest of the day hanging around the house and watching football, including the Horns who won against Wyoming tonight!
Happy Birthday, Gavin!! Thanks so much for letting us celebrate in your big day! We had just the best time!
