Uncle Chuc's and Aunt Anh's 20th Wedding Anniversary Luau

Tonight, we all headed to Bellaire for Uncle Chuc's and Aunt Anh's 20th anniversary party. Unfortunately, we were running late due to a car accident on 59S. We quickly found Papa and Ngoai and even Uncle Anh Tuan who beat us there too after driving in from Austin after work. We said our hellos to the rest of the family and took some family photos.

Then, it was time to eat. There was a massive amount of food. Andrew enjoyed the eggrolls, egg noodles, and sugar cane shrimp. Then, he wanted to play. He wanted to go back into the kitchen with Uncle Anh Tuan and the cousins. He thought it was fun to put his hands in the big vat of ice. Such a goof! But we kept him entertained with a Thomas coloring pad that Kimmie and Kyana had picked out for him.

Many of the guests sang karoke (what Vietnamese party is complete without it?) and dedicated songs to Uncle Chuc and Aunt Anh. Even I thought it was sweet even if I didn't understand the songs. Andrew wanted to go up and dance too, but was too shy to do it. And there were even some song and dance numbers including the twins, Anh and Nga, singing I Can't Help Falling in Love With You. But sadly, we left for home before we got to see it as it was getting really late. Andrew was so sad and upset about leaving. He kept saying "in there" and "stay here". Such a party animal!! But we wanted to get him to bed at a decent hour. We thought he would fall asleep on the car ride home, but he proved us wrong yet again. He did fall asleep pretty easily when we put him in his bed.

But it was a very nice party for my uncle and aunt. And it was really nice being there with lots of family and friends, especially with Nhat and his family being there too. Twenty years of marriage is really something to celebrate. Happy 20th Anniversary and here's to many, many more!!

And yes, I know our matching emsembles are crazy silly. We had bought them when we went to Hawaii and wore them to a luau to be festive. And we figured we might as well get another use of them while we can.
