After church, we went back to Nonna's for a late breakfast. Andrew still had fun with his cousins. He is really cute and happy around both of them. After they left, he decided to take a late nap which pretty much ruled out Sea World in the afternoon. But instead, we opted to take him to Nonna's neighborhood pool again hoping to ease the blow of no Sea World. Andrew wasn't too disappointed thankfully. I hate telling him things and not following through on them. It's always easier to handle disappointment when there is something fun to do instead. Andrew had a good time at the pool and is getting even better about practicing his swim motions and putting his face in the water. We are working on him closing his mouth to keep the water out or spitting out the water if need be. After an hour or so at the pool, it was time to go back to Nonna's to clean up and finish packing up our things. Of course, Andrew didn't want to leave like almost always nowadays. But we finally managed to talk him into leaving without any crying or whining.
Then, we met up Uncle Alex and his family at BW3s for dinner before we headed back to Houston. It's always nice to see Alex, Charlene, and the kids. Andrew was shy at first and then warmed up to everyone, including the twins who are a little older than him. He didn't want to share his trains with the twins, but later came around. By the end of the meal, he was playing peekaboo with Xavier. And it wasn't long before he was trying to kiss both of them!
After dinner winded down, it was getting fairly late and we had our three hour drive still ahead of us. Thankfully, Andrew fell asleep in the car without too much difficulty and we had an easy trip back home.
It was a great weekend getting to see family and friends. It always seems that there is never enough time to see loved one unfortunately. But I guess when it happens, it makes it even more special.
