Las Vegas or Bust!

Last night, we flew from HOU to LAS to visit Anh Thu and her family for Andrew's Spring Break. Daddy didn't make the trip out with us so he could stay home to work and study. We were sad he couldn't come too, but Uncle Rick is away on a business trip so this way, we could help Anh Thu out a bit and it was a convenient time for us to come since Andrew wouldn't have to miss school with his being on Spring Break this upcoming week.

Andrew's been so excited about our trip especially the airplane ride. Andrew is such a great traveller. Daddy dropped us at Hobby Airport and we met Ngoai there. She grabbed some Chick Fil A for us to eat on the plane including milk for Drew. For whatever reason, the milk was flagged and they needed further examination, which also included a pat down of Andrew and I. I wasn't sure how Andrew would do, but I let him watch as the TSA officer patted me down. And then it was his turn. He was a little scared, but did absolutely fantastic!! I think it helped that the TSA officer was the same lady who gave Andrew a TSA badge sticker as we came out of the security line before it was determined that we needed the pat down. I was so proud of him!!

We boarded the flight with no other mishaps and we were on our way. Andrew was great on the plane. He read books, colored, and when he was finally bored, watched Mickey Mouse Choo Choo Express. He didn't even seem the least bit tired to sleep. But since he was behaving, I really didn't push the issue.

Finally, we landed and went to meet Anh Thu and the kids. Andrew was so excited to see them and they him. The girls took turns holding him until we got to the car. Then, we headed back to their house to get some shut eye. We have to rest up for the rest of the trip!

When we were waiting to takeoff, Andrew got out the pamphlet about emergency situations. It was funny, but then, it was hard to try to explain to him about crashing because I didn't want to scare him about flying.
