Hoover Dam and Lake Mead

Since we finished sledding earlier than we expected and the kids were still energetic, Aunt Anh Thu thought we would take the drive to the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead. That way we would have time to do anything else we might want to later on the week.

I had been to Hoover Dam a few years back with Daddy's family pre-Andrew, but it would be Andrew's first time. He loved the new bridge more than the dam--probably because he doesn't really get what a dam does and it just looks like a big piece of concrete. Andrew was also intrigued by the lake and looking for boats.

Then, we took a short drive to a pier on Lake Mead where Anh Thu and her family have rented boats before. Anh Thu says the kids love feeding the fish and ducks there and knew Andrew would too. She was right! All the kids enjoyed it immensely. And we couldn't believe how many fish were there!! They totally swam up to where were we at knowing we had food for them. There must have been at least a hundred no kidding. It was crazy!!

Afterwards, we drove home after such a fun filled day! I think we all were exhausted and ready for naps!!
