We befriended Michael and his mom, Neisha, at the open gyms at Gymboree. The two boys have always liked one another and would play together some. Michael is much more calm and chill than Andrew who spent most of his time running around Gymboree like a crazy madman! But Neisha and I got to know each other and would talk quite a bit during open gym and she was sweet to invite us to Michael's 2nd birthday party at where else, but Gymboree.
We had to run a couple of errands before the party, but still ended up early. So, the boys played together while the other guests arrived. And fortunately, Mrs. Angie was our teacher for the night so that was an extra treat too!! Also, we got to see some more friends that we hadn't seen since dropping Gymboree so that was nice as well.
Andrew played around and followed along with all the activities Mrs. Angie had for the kids including the freeze game with maracas, riding the air log like a horse, and parachute time. Andrew was really happy. I have to say it made me think about signing him back up!!
Afterwards, we had pizza and cake. Andrew did really well sitting and eating. He did pretty good the entire party. We were scared he would be too hyper since more of the kids were younger. Andrew even listened when we told him he had to run around the other kids when we did bumpy mats (where the kids run on the mat with tubes under it making pseudo-hills_. Daddy and I were pleased with Andrew's behavior for the most part.
It was a fun evening! We are glad we got to celebrate with our little buddy, Michael! Happy 2nd Birthday! We can't wait to have a play date with you (coming soon hopefully).
