Fire Truck Park with Palmer

This morning, Jenny texted me whether we were free to hang out today. Fortunately, we didn't have anything scheduled so we made plans to meet up at the Bellaire park next to the aquatic center after the boys woke up from their naps. They have both a train and fire truck thing to play on, but Andrew calls it the fire truck park.

Andrew spotted Jenny and Palmer right away once we got to the park. When we started walking to the playground, Andrew dashed off to join them. He was so excited yelling "Palmer. Palmer." They even hugged each other! So sweet.

The boys immediately ran off to play. They went from one play area to another to another, but they spent the most time at the train and fire truck. At the train, they took turns driving and even made pretend pizza in the dining car with wood chips. They even offered it to other kids and their parents! Andrew also pretended to take a snooze in the passenger car, which we said was the sleeper car.

I suggested they ride the fire truck and then pretend to put out fires. They would ride the fire truck for a while and then would hop off and run to some place and spray it with their pretend hoses, which at first was their hands, but later moved to using small branches. They pretended to put out fires at the airport (which was one of the larger playscapes), the aquatic center, and the trees. At one point, Andrew said the kids on the swings were on fire, but I explained to him that it wouldn't be a good idea to pretend that.

The boys did some good climbing and sliding. They ran around the park too hopefully running off some energy. Eventually, it started to get dark and we called it a night. We had a wonderful time! We don't get to see Jenny and Palmer as much as we like so it's always great when we do get together!
