Tonight, Andrew and I went to the Bellaire Library storytime with Mrs. Missy (who recently got married, thus the change from Miss to Mrs.) It had been way too long since the last time we had gone; and I don't know who had missed it more--Andrew or me! But he was really excited when I told him we were going (Daddy stayed at home because he's been under the weather after catching some of what Andrew had last week).
Mrs. Missy holds these Thursday evening storytimes the last Thursday of every month, but this one was moved up because of Thanksgiving. We have never been to one since we had been going to open gym at Gymboree all this time. But I have been wanting to go ever since Andrew started school seeing how we don't get to go to the Tuesday or Wednesday morning ones anymore. And I didn't know what to expect either. The morning ones are pretty crowded, but that wasn't the case tonight. I don't know if it was because it is in the evening or if it just happened to be that way tonight, but there were four kids. Crazy! But Mrs. Missy still put on a great storytime for those four kids. And to be honest, it was nice because Andrew had plenty of room to sit and dance.
We read stories and did some of our favorites, such as the Bananas song and the Baby Bumblebee song. But tonight, Mrs. Missy also played a couple of new songs, including a song from the Yo Gabba Gabba tour (Andrew has only seen a handful of episodes of the show). The song is It's Fun to Dance by Steel Trains and is really cute and fun. The kids really dug it as did I.
We had a good time tonight. Andrew didn't want to go home and kept asking for more. We will definitely have to come back for more Thursday night storytimes!
