Today was St. Luke's Halloween celebration. To start off the festivities, they were going to have a parade after chapel where the kids would walk with their costumes. Two year olds and younger kids were not allowed to wear their costumes. At first, I was disappointed and wondered why, but after thinking about some, I came to a few conclusions. First, I am not sure Andrew would be able to handle wearing his costume all day. He wouldn't be able to put it on or take it off by himself. And secondly, they have to have some kids watch the parade. So, I was content with this and hyped up the parade to Andrew in hopes that he would also be okay not being able to wear his costume.
But his teachers eased the blow; and after that, it was a nonissue for Andrew. Last week, they helped the kids to make their own Halloween t-shirts that they would be able to wear to school today. The kids stamped orange pumpkins and black cats on white shirts. They were super cute. And Andrew was excited about wearing his shirt this morning as well as their class party.
Andrew had no problem going to school today nor did he ever say "no school" today. And when we got to school and saw his classmates, it was adorable with them all wearing their shirts!
When I picked him, he was still working on his crafts of decorating foam pumpkins and a mask. He wasn't too enthused about wearing the masks afterwards, but he was excited about having eaten a Halloween cookie.
