A Busy Thursday

Our very busy Thursday began with an appointment with an allergist to discuss Andrew's cough that has been lingering for several months now. Daddy and I both thought allergies might be the culprit since we have definite family history of allergies. We had been trying Singuliar, which has helped some, but not eliminated the cough.

Andrew must have known we had an appointment because he slept in like a champ for our 830am appointment. Daddy actually left for the doctor's office to go fill out the paperwork so Andrew could sleep in a little while longer. After Andrew woke, we got him cleaned up and dressed and grabbed a breakfast bar to go.

We didn't have to wait long to get seen by Dr. Collaco with Daddy having shown up early. Andrew played with his trains while we told the doctor what has been going on. And Andrew did great listening and letting the doctor check him out. He wasn't happy when Dr. Collaco swabbed his nose, but did well considering. After examining Andrew's mucous under a microscope, the doctor came back to say he saw a lot of allergy cells and wanted to a scratch test to determine what Andrew is allergic to.

Since Andrew had taken antihistamine within four days prior, Dr. Collaco wanted to wait to perform the prick test. So, we have a follow up appointment in three weeks. But in the meantime, Dr. Collaco prescribed a bunch of medicine to see about getting Andrew better before then including antibiotics, oral steroids, nasal spray and an inhaler. Hopefully, with all these meds, we see some improvement soon.

Daddy had to leave for work while we were still finishing up at the doctors due to an impending meeting. Andrew and I then left for home for a snack (which basically turned into an early lunch) and played. Shortly thereafter, we drove over to the Galleria to meet with Keryth and Jack for a play date. Jack was hungry so we decided to meet them at the Food Court. Of course, upon seeing the food court, Andrew said he wanted to eat Chick Fil A. I never want to say no to Andrew when it comes to eating, so I obliged and ordered him some chicken tenders and a fruit cup. He begins to eat both, but then decides he wants some of Jack's lo mein noodles. Keryth and Jack were sweet to share, but we also shared some of the fruit cup so it worked out well. After both boys ate well, they shared a cup of vanilla ice cream too.

After lunch, we walked to ride the train. Jack said he wanted to ride in the red caboose and Andrew said he wanted to ride with Jack. Then, as the ride was ending, Jack said he wanted to ride the train again. Of course, Andrew hears this and chimes in he wants to do as well. Sure, whatever, I am just along for the ride. ;) So, we pay the man again and off we go once more. But this time, Andrew wants to ride in the green car. Jack was still good in the caboose so the boys would wave and talk to each other along the ride.

Next, we walked over to the Little Galleria. The boys played well together and had lots of fun following each other around and around. Andrew is getting more daring too jumping off almost anything even if Mommy thinks it's too high and dangerous. I get so nervous about him landing and breaking something!!

Before we knew it, it was past 130pm and time to head home for much needed naps! Andrew and I are both glad we finally were able to meet up with Keryth and Jack. We had a super time!
