Old MacDonald's Farm

We had originally planned on going to Dewberry Farm this morning, but our Groupon deal wasn't eligible to be used today. So instead, we thought we would try out another kid farm in Humble called Old MacDonald's Farm. After breakfast, I showed Andrew the website while I was looking for the hours and address; and he was excited about going. He kept talking about the train ride and the pony ride.

After we arrived, we bought our tickets and entered the farm. Andrew immediately saw the train, but it wasn't going to be starting with rides for another 15-20 minutes. So, we went first to a playground with tunnels. Then, we walked to this huge pile of sand where they had tons of trucks to play with. Andrew had fun running up and down the hill.

We walked over to Indian Village and checked out the teepees. And then, we walked around to see the animals, including a huge cow, sheep, pigs, and goats. We came upon some deer that were walking out and about. The deer were very friendly and ate right out of our hands! Andrew was very brave and did a good job holding out his hands and letting them eat.

Next, we let Andrew do a couple of pony rides. He was totally a pro after yesterday at Kailee's party and had lots of fun again riding the ponies. After, we went to another playscape where they had a ball pit. There were lots of older boys there, but Andrew held his own. Lately, he has loved following the older kids; and he did so here. He even started throwing some balls, but I was scared he was going to throw a ball in someone's face so we didn't let him stay too long in there.

We next walked over to the duck pond and fed them some feed too. Andrew also wanted to check out the pumpkin patch, but we held off picking a pumpkin so we wouldn't have to carry it the rest of our time there. Andrew then wanted to go back to the tunnel playscape and ride a horse swing made out of old tires. Then, Andrew wanted to go ride the ponies again so we took him over to that area where he rode again three more times.

While there, we noticed that the train was loading up so we booked it over there and were the last people on!! Andrew enjoyed riding the train and looked out as we took a trip around the farm. After the train ride, Andrew wanted to go again so we rode another time.

Then, after some more pony rides and more train rides, we fed some more of the animals including the deer again, goats, and sheep. Then after one last train ride, we went to go pick out Andrew's pumpkin where he chose a yellowish one. He really did want a traditional orange one; and that was definitely fine with us.

We left the farm and then drove in search of food. Andrew requested alfredo noodles, but before we found a restaurant, Andrew fell asleep. So, we headed straight home and napped. We were all exhausted!!
