Another Visit from Aunt Vinaya

Aunt Vinaya came into town this weekend; and she made some time for us during her visit. First, on Friday, Andrew and I spent the day in the League City, but had an early and quick dinner with Ngoai and Papa. Then, we drove home earlier than normal so we could hang out with her and Aunt Monica. We had originally decided to go out to Lupe Tortilla thinking Andrew and I could eat dessert and he could play in the sandbox while the two aunts and Daddy ate dinner. However, during the day, Andrew seemed a bit under the weather so I wasn't enthused about taking him out to a restaurant with a sandbox possibly full of germs. Luckily, the girls were kind enough to be content with ordering take out so we ordered some Nikos Nikos to go.

After dinner, Daddy took Andrew for his bath and put him down to bed while us three girls talked and caught up. It was just like old times. I love that no matter how much time has gone by without seeing one another, we can still have wonderful conversation with complete ease and we can talk about anything and everything. I always feel sad that I don't get to talk or see Vinaya as much as I would like. But I am grateful that we can still fall back easily into our rapport. So much so that we hadn't notice how late it had gotten and ended up talking into the wee hours of the morning.

Then on Saturday night, I met them out at the Bronx Bar in Rice Village where they were celebrating Monica's friend, Nikki's birthday. It wasn't that loud, but it still wasn't totally conducive to talking, but we managed as best we could. It was just nice hanging out with the girls again. And one of the things we all love is music and dancing (more so when we were younger and had more energy). But we still had fun dancing and singing along to the music. Then, it was time to head home because we were all pretty tired...and, face it, not as young and vivacious as we used to be!! My, how the times have changed!
