Sea World

So, we just got back from our trip to San Antonio this weekend. We took Andrew to Sea World for the first time yesterday and it was just the best way to end an awesome weekend.

Yesterday morning, Andrew woke up rather late for him (around 8am). We ate breakfast and then got ready for Sea World, which opened at 10am. Andrew was so excited! He kept saying "Sea World" over and over again throughout the weekend. His excitement was contagious because I was getting excited wishing that we would like it as much as I hoped he would.

When, we first entered the park, we walked over to Shamu's Happy Harbors so Andrew could have some fun in the water since the line for the entrance to the waterpark was already long and none of the shows started for a while. Andrew was a little tentative at first, but quickly got into the swing of things and before I knew it, he was running and climbing around. Later, Aunt Janine, her family, and Colleen joined us there. The kids were really sweet joining Andrew in the waterscape and playing with him.

After, we ventured to the Penquin Encounter while the three older kids ventured off to ride the Steel Eel. I still remember taking Stephanie and Thomas on that ride like six years ago and am reminded of how much they have grown up!!

Next, we walked over to the Shamu show. Andrew was very intrigued at first. He looked around as we showed him the whales. He was clapping and "oohing" and "aahing". It was so cute! But as they showed the video clips on the big screen, he would lose interest. One time, he even said "all done." But as soon as the whales came back out, he was mesmerized again. He did very well making it through the entire show. He was hooked!

After the show, Andrew, Daddy, and Nonna booked it over to the Sea Lion area where we were meeting Stephanie, Thomas, and Colleen. Uncle Mike, Aunt Janine, and I were on a mission to buy frozen lemonades to cool us off. Andrew enjoyed the sea lion show, but I don't think as much as he did the Shamu one.

Next, we grabbed a bite to eat at the Seafire Grille before heading to Dolphin Cove and Shark/The Coral Reef area. Andrew loved looking at all the sea animals and is especially into sharks thanks to the Downtown Aquarium. We didn't stay too long at either place because we all wanted to get to the water park to cool off! It was pretty hot and the thought of cool water was eating at us!

We first checked out the wave pool where Andrew liked walking around, but wasn't too big of a fan of the waves. Daddy took him to the pirate ship waterscape, which was more to his liking. I stayed and chatted with Uncle Mike and Aunt Janine, but later joined Daddy and Andrew. Stephanie and Colleen joined us for a bit before taking off to ride one of the water slides. Andrew played on the whale seesaws and climbing up and down the waterscape. He didn't want to leave the waterpark, but it was getting really late in the day. We persuaded him to leave by asking him if he wanted to get ice cream.

Then, we walked back to the parking lot and said our goodbyes to the Gonzales. Andrew was so worn out that he fell asleep before we left parking lot. He really behaved well and wasn't fussy for not having napped until then (4pm). I couldn't believe that he hung on that long. But he was having so much fun and so did the rest of us. After he woke up from his nap, he told us that he wanted to go back. I definitely think we can do that!!

I also posted the pictures to our Shutterfly page since the slideshow isn't as clear as I would like (maybe one day, I will figure out a better way to post better slideshows).
