July 5th Holiday

Today, Daddy was off from work so we got in some extra family time today. This morning, Daddy joined us for our Gymboree class, which afforded Mommy the ability to take lots of pictures. It's usually not as easy to take them when I am running around after Andrew and sometimes having to help him with some of the things. Of course, Andrew really enjoyed having Daddy there in our class--and so did I. Andrew also had lots of fun with his buddy, Gareth, whom you will see in lots of the pictures below!

I definitely realize that our days at Gymboree are numbered. Andrew is getting older and there will come a time where he won't be as into going as much as before. He's been really great about participating in class and following the curriculum. He does such a great job of pretending; I am very proud of him for having such a vivid imagination--even if it does typically revolve trains.

Anyways, he does a great job of doing what Ms. Angie asks of him. He wants to be right in front of her for pictures or storytime. He will then run over to where they keep all the supplies and will want to help her get the rainbow rope, which he has to have one of the green sections. And then, as Ms. Angie is showing us what we are doing in class that day, Andrew will want to be the first one to do it with her as an example for the others. Already a teacher's pet!! But he totally loves Ms. Angie. One of the reasons we have stayed with Gymboree so long is largely in part to her and how much fun she makes it for the kids.

I think Gymboree has also helped to prepare him for school this fall. Andrew pays attention to the pictures and the books and listens so well to Ms. Angie. And Andrew is doing much better socializing with the other kids and isn't hitting or swiping as much anymore.

Anyhow, it was nice getting to watch him play in class today with Daddy. I love watching them together. It really is one of my most cherished things to do.
