Vegas Day 2

This morning, we got the girls ready for their matinee performance...the one that we were going to. Andrew was going to stay home with Uncle Rick and Brennan since kids under six years were not recommended to attend the show. I wasn't sure how Andrew would have behaved either. Thankfully, Rick was going to watch him for us while we were gone.

Anyhow, the show was really good and the girls were awesome! I have seen a few of their previous Nutcracker shows, but this was better in that was it put on by a professional ballet company. The costumes were absolutely gorgeous; and the dancing was incredible. Unfortunately, since they were owned by the company, they didn't let the girls ever take them home (I understand to be better safe than sorry, but a bummer for me). They changed into the costumes before and after their performances. So, I couldn't take pictures of them in their costumes. But luckily, Anh Thu sent the girls with her camera so that they could have a room mother take pictures of them for us!

After the show, we headed home where two of our cousins from Los Angeles would be joining us for the rest of the weekend along with their families. It was pandimonium! Nhat, or Nat, is the oldest son of Papa's oldest brother. He is married to Jackie and they have two girls, Kimmie and Kyana. Then, Duc, or Tom (who visited us a few months ago), is Nhat's younger brother. He is married to Deanna and they have five kids in all, but only the youngest two, Jayda and Jenyne) came with on the trip to Vegas. My sister planned for a whole incredible spread of delicous food and we all tried to help where we could.

Cara and Emma headed back for the night performance which Rick, Pop, and Grandma were going to attend. The other kids who stayed home had a great time playing with one another, including some Wii boxing. Andrew wanted to play with everyone, including the girls! Poor kid was the youngest one and was trying to keep up, but he was a little on the young side. Thankfully, Brennan and him could play trains together.

We also celebrated Nhat's birthday and of course, Christmas. It was crazy with all the kids opening their presents, but so much fun to watch. Andrew was totally into and loved his fire station from the Armstrongs along with all of his other presents! Then, the kids went back to playing armed with all their new toys.

After the festivities ended, we went out to the Aria Hotel & Casino where Duc was staying to do some gambling and hang out with him some more. Rick and Cara were kind enough to watch Andrew; and luckily, he slept the whole time we were gone. But unfortunately, Mommy and Daddy didn't fair too well at the tables, but oh well. You win some; you lose some, right?

There was one sad note to today. I am sad to report that there was an incident when Rick was watching Andrew. Andrew was playing with a statute of a little girl (something my sister really loves) and according to Rick, he basically clotheslined her. Andrew was curious about her before all this, but was limited to just hugging her and giving her eskimo kisses. I don't know why he got violent and had to break her. Anyway, I am mortified. Hopefully, Rick and Anh Thu can fix her or if not, can find a replacement. I am sooooo sorry, sis!! Also, Andrew was a little whiney crying/asking for me while we were gone. Not a good afternoon for my pumpkin.

Again, way too many pictures to post so I have posted them on Shutterfly like the others. But I managed to pick a few to share below. Last, but definitely not lease, we hope you had a great birthday, Nhat!
