We had made plans to attend the special storytime at Barnes & Noble for a reading of The Polar Express. But since it was snowing and cold, we weren't sure if we wanted to go or not. We were finished with dinner early and didn't have anything pressing. James and I discussed if we wanted to try going. So, we decided to let "fate" decide. I called the store to inquire if the storytime was cancelled. Since it wasn't, we got Drew bundled up and got in the car. The roads weren't too bad at all and wasn't as deserted as we thought it would be.
There were actually a good number of people there at the store. Andrew actually sat and paid attention for most of the story even though it was hard for him to see all the pictures. Mommy and Daddy had to help tell the story to him so he would understand. But mostly, we just told him to look at the pictures of train and Santa Claus. But we were impressed how long he sat there. That was the longest he has ever sat on one of the storytimes there. They served hot chocolate and cookies, which were so delicious. They also gave each kid a bell with red ribbon. We also did an activity of writing a letter to Santa asking for Christmas presents. Andrew wrote on the paper scribbling all around. When I asked what he was drawing, he said "bus." Sounds good to me!
Anyways, I am glad we braved the "inclement" weather...Andrew seemed to enjoy himself.
