Last night, I texted another {yes, another} Gymboree friend, Jenny, to see if she and her son, Palmer, would be interested in joining us at the Children's Museum. I know, I know, Mommy has been the busy little social butterfly or rather, social director for Andrew. It has just taken a while for all these schedules to coordinate up.
Anyhow, Jenny said she would have loved to, but had already made plans to go to a holiday book fair at a local church (actually, it's one of the ones that I am considering for Andrew and also the same one that had the pumpkin patch that we went to back in October). She kindly invited us and it sounded like fun, so we me them at the church.
On our way to the area the book fair was being held, we walked passed the classrooms and got to see some of the action. It was so cute; and as I told James tonight, I could so see Andrew going to school there!
The book fair itself was pretty cool. It was very nicely done and had a lot of cool books. Drew ended up picking a construction truck book (go figure). He and Palmer had lots of fun running around grabbing books and then just running around some more. They had Santa and some arts and crafts activities, but those weren't until later so we decided to leave after we made our purchases. Jenny and I still wanted to hang out so since we weren't too far away from our house, I invited them to come over.
Andrew and Palmer played very well together. Andrew has been doing some really good sharing lately! Yippee!! And the best part of the play date was when Andrew was drinking out of his sippy cup. Jenny offered Palmer his sippy cup, but Palmer didn't drink out of it immediately. So then, Andrew grabbed it and offered it to him (just because Andrew wanted Palmer to have it since it was his). But Palmer then drank out of it as Andrew was holding it. It was precious!
We had a great morning and can't wait for our next play date with Palmer.
