Andrew has learned some new animals and sounds. First, since our time at the petting zoo, Andrew has learned goats and that they say "maa." But sometimes, he does confuse goats with other four-legged animals, such as sheep or cows, but we are working on it.
As I mentioned before, I have been working on bunny rabbit since Andrew was making basically the same sounds for both bunnies and fish. At first, I was making bunny rabbit faces while protruding my upper teeth out over my lip and making "pfft pfft" sounds. So, after some reteaching, Andrew will now point his pointer fingers out over his head as his bunny ears and make the sounds. Sometimes, he is lazy and only points one finger on his head (I guess one ear is droopy) or makes no accompanying sounds at all. Drew is pretty good about recognizing bunny rabbits in our books, stuffed animals, and our Little People figures.
Drew now will say "hoo" for "hoot" for owls. He also recognizes owls in some of our books. Usually, anything even remotely close to a bird (e.g. chickens and parrots), Andrew will call them a duck, so this is definitely progress!
Here, you can see for yourself...
