Later in the evening, my parents hosted a New Year's Eve party for the family. Uncle 9 and Uncle 10 hadn't seen my sister since she was a baby and this was the first time they got to see her since they came to the US. Cousin Y and his family just flew in from California earlier today and came over for a little bit before heading to a party in Bellaire.
Daddy drove in after work and even stopped by to buy some fireworks and sparklers for the kids. They all had a great time. Andrew was very intrigued at first, but lost interest after a while. But he had a good time watching the fireworks go off and even holding a sparkler with Daddy for a little bit.
Then, everyone just played and hung out. We had a great time with Y's sons, Brandon and Jaydon. Jaydon is a little over a year old and was enamored with Uncle Anh Tuan. He only wanted Anh Tuan to hold him most of the night. It was crazy! He did finally let him hold him for a bit, but I was armed with a banana to feed to him. ;)
We decided to do the champagne toast and ringing in of the New Year with the Eastern time zone so people could go home and sleep if they wanted. I was all for that because Andrew was still wanting to stay up with everyone. He finally went to bed around 1145pm! Such a little party animal!
It was a great party with the family. I am glad to ring in the New Year surrounded by so much family especially Cara, Emma, and Brennan. I so love these kids!!
Happy New Year's, everyone! We wish you all love, happiness, health, and prosperity in 2011!!
