This morning was Liya's third birthday party. Liya is one of our old friends from Gymboree. We were excited to go because we hadn't seen her and her family in so long--Andrew especially. He kept asking when we were going to the party. This boy has no patience!!
The theme of the party was animals; and boy, were there were animals galore!? Liya's mom, Sabrina, had hired people to bring in an entire petting zoo including llama, sheep, ducks, rabbits, and many more. They also had a pony to ride, which Andrew didn't care for much. Weird considering how into pony rides he was a few months before. I guess we can blame it on change of opinion or the fact that his two little buddies, Palmer and Gareth, were more into the playscape and inflatable. The boys were constantly climbing up the ladder and going down the slide.
Andrew also got his face painted and picked out (from a few offered selections) a snake. Drew also kept asking to eat the cake, but we told him he had to eat lunch first. Sabrina and Amir had a crazy delicious food spread to which Andrew ate very well dining on lasagna, fruit, cheese, and crackers. But not soon enough, it was time to go back into the moonbouncer with the two boys.
After we sang Happy Birthday, Andrew chose a cupcake over cake. For some reason, Daddy put Andrew on his shoulders during this time. It stands to reason that Daddy was going to have crumbs all in his hair. Silly Daddy!!
As the party was winding down, Palmer went to ride the pony before he left; and we used that to our advantage. Once I told Andrew that Palmer was going on the pony, Andrew was more than willing to go for a ride himself. Peer pressure! Love it. Then, it was time to head back home.
It was a great party; it was so good to see some old friends and share in Liya's special day. Happy Birthday, Liya!! We had such a terrific time.
