Today was Emily's third birthday party. Coincidentally enough, it was at Wonderwild just like Quinn's party last week. Good thing for us, Andrew really enjoyed it.
We were actually late to the party because lunch ran ridicuously long. Andrew had eaten really well; we had to actually wait for him while he finished eating. And to make matters worse (or make us even more late), he had teriyaki sauce all over his shirt snd pants. So, we ran home first to change him.
We were about half an hour late and the party was already underway. Andrew made up for lost time and started playing. He went straight for the trains and was even better this time around. Later, he followed Emily to the jumping pillow and they were so cute on it. He climbed the playscape and the inflatable slide just like last time. But this time, he did get his face painted. He asked for a train, but the lady wasn't sure if she could a nice one. So, we told Andrew to pick out another one and he finally settled on a snake on his arm.
And then it was back to more playing before we had to head back to the room for food and drinks. When we came into the room, there were a few spots at the table where Emily was sitting and two other tables that were completely empty. I asked Andrew if he wanted to sit at one of the empty tables wanting to save Emily's tables for family and close friends. But Andrew so wanted to go sit by her. I asked Donnie if it was okay and he said it was so I let him. I wasn't sure how much Andrew would eat since he ate so well at the restaurant, but I guess since all the other kids were eating, he ate too.
And then, he was totally ready for cake. As the waited, it was easy to see it was getting tired, but fighting it. Daddy was worried about the sugar intake would deter the nap, but I reassured him that Andrew wouldn't eat much cake (he never does). But true to form, he made a liar out of me and ate almost the entire slice!! Luckily, he went down for a nap shortly after we got home.
We had a wonderful time at the party as always! Happy 3rd Birthday, Emily!! We are so glad that we got to celebrate your third birthday with you!! Thanks for including us on your special day!
