Papa had been working a few extra Saturdays down in St. Croix and as such, was able to take a few days off to make an unscheduled trip home. At first, Ngoai had planned to make another trip down to the island, but this way, we could all see Papa especially Andrew.
Papa arrived Thursday night late so we drove home to League City on Friday. I had told Andrew several times that we were going to see Papa, but for a while I thought he thought it was going to be on the computer. But when I turned into their subdivision, Andrew started to say "Papa" over and over again. We parked in the driveway and honked the horn. Ngoai came out to greet us as Papa had fallen asleep. She said that Andrew kept saying Papa as he walked into the house, but then stopped to play with his train set and totally forgot about Papa. Nice.
But for real, it was so sweet seeing the two of them together (once Andrew found Papa, that is). Andrew was so happy!! He kept wanting Papa the whole day grabbing his hand or telling him to sit next to him. Even when I was putting Andrew down for his nap, he started to cry for Papa. I told him that Papa would be there when he woke up; and he seemed content with that.
After his nap, Ngoai was going to run to the grocery store for a few items. Andrew said he wanted to go so we obliged. Then, we had a nice dinner with some family and family friends. After, it was time to head home to see Daddy and Uncle Anh Tuan.
One funny thing from today was Andrew's discovery of the microphone. He loved hearing his voice over the speakers. I joked to Daddy that Andrew is Asian after all--the karaoke gene kicked in!! Oh no!!!
I love the picture of Andrew and Papa "singing" to one another. Another highlight was that Aunt Hong and Uncle Hung happen to be wearing green just like Andrew. I thought it made for a nice photo opp.
