Tonight, we went to IAH to visit Aunt Anh Thu who was on a long layover on her way back from a tennis tournament in Ohio to Las Vegas. Initially, when Anh Thu told us of the layover, I thought it was going to be just me because of how late it was, but then Ngoai wanted to come and then Papa wanted to come too. We have to take advantage of the chance to see her since we don't get to see her near enough!! Anh Thu's layover was from 8pm to 11pm, so we would have a good two hours with her before she had to check back in.
Anh Thu had initially asked if I was going to bring A.J., but I said no because of his bed time. But of course, I was lying. I couldn't let the opportunity for him to see her pass by. So, when Anh Thu came out to baggage claim where we were meeting, Papa and Andrew hid to surprise her! It was sweet because he immediately went right to her. I love that he loves her so much. He has always had this affinity towards her even though he doesn't get to see very often. It makes my heart melt.
So, as we sat around and caught up, Andrew colored and played trains for a little while. Anh Thu and him put on about a billion Thomas tattoos that were in the coloring book. Andrew enjoyed looking around and getting trouble. He got into trouble a few times for not listening and also hitting Ngoai (when she told him no). Poor Ngoai! :(
Time flew by and before we knew it, it was time for Anh Thu to go back through security to her gate. Even though it was just for a short amount of time, it was special to get to spend that time with her. We can't wait until next month when we get to spend lots of more time with her (and the rest of the Armstrong clan) in Vegas. We love you very much and miss you lots already, Aunt Anh Thu! See you soon!
