Today was yet another busy day. We started out the morning with Emma’s soccer game, which her team won. Andrew loved walking around on the soccer field and of course, tried to walk on during the actual game. We sat on the sidelines for a while, but later, I took him, Cara, and Brennan to a nearby playground. Cara was especially very sweet helping to take care of Andrew and play with him on the jungle gym.
After the game, we had lunch at home, but quickly had to get back to the fields for Cara’s game. Cara’s soccer team was undefeated going into this, the last game of the season, and played their hearts out and won (even though, they aren’t really supposed to keep score and all). Since it was the end of the season, the coaches held a get together at Dairy Queen as a last hoorah to hand out certificates and medals. Andrew was cute trying to hang out with all the girls as he tried to sit at their table and watching him so intently.
After the game, it was time for Emma’s gymnastics meet and Cara’s recital. Since we were able to watch Cara perform her ballet routines during the rehearsal, we went to Emma’s meet. This time, I only had Andrew since Brennan opted to stay with Rick and watch Cara. Andrew played some more at these bleachers outside of the main room so I got to see a small part of Emma’s routines. I also got to see Emma get two first and two second places in her events!! These Armstrong girls are natural gymnasts, I tell you!
After the meet, we ate dinner at a Japanese restaurant for my birthday. Unfortunately, I think poor Andrew was too overtired from everything. He wasn’t too cooperative during dinner, but understandably so. He did calm down a bit to eat some gyoza and vegetables thankfully. But he wasn't as good as he normally is at restaurants. So when we got home, we took him a quick bath and put him down for the night to get some rest.
