This morning, we went to the annual Houston Greek Festival in the Montrose area. We got there a little bit after it opened so there weren't too many people there right before 11am. The Children's Dance Program was scheduled to start at 11:30am so we headed first to the gift shop to look around and then to the play area so Andrew can have some fun. They had four inflatables and Andrew had a good time. He didn't like the big ones too much. Drew didn't play on them too long, which was good because we needed to head back to the gym where the show was being performed. Andrew enjoyed the show staying entertained for the first four performances from the younger kids even clapping and dancing along to the music (Mommy is so bummed that she forgot to take some pictures of the dance performances). Then, it was time for the older kids to dance. People took this little break in the program to leave or come in. Andrew, too, wanted to leave. I guess he had had enough.
So, then we proceeded to the food stands!! We got Andrew a cheese pizza, which he ate half of. Daddy and I shared a gyro, which Andrew ate some of the meat. Then, we also got Loukoumades these honey covered donut things and a Souvlaki skewer to go. All of the food was pretty delicious!!! I am craving the Loukoumades just writing about them!
We had a nice time and did enjoy ourselves. But to be perfectly honest, it was a little small; and there wasn't too much to do in terms of entertainment for Andrew. The food was definitely an upside though! But thankfully, our favorite Greek restaurant is really close to home so we can always have it whenever we want! But we have always wanted to try it out (the past few years) and are glad we did. It was a good experience and Andrew seemed to enjoy himself a fair amount. Opa!!
