The dinosaurs have attacked the Houston Zoo!! That is, the zoo has brought in a special dinosaur exhibit for the summer. We asked Andrew this morning if he wanted to go to the zoo to which he said "yeah." We then asked Andrew if he wanted to go see the dinosaurs to which he said "yeah." So, when we got the zoo, we headed that way and checked them out. I didn't want to lie to Andrew about them being real dinosaurs, but didn't want to spoil the fun and tell him that they were robots. But there was no reason to worry because at the first dinosaur, a little boy promptly told his dad and us that they were robots. :) Andrew enjoyed looking at them. I have to say they were nicely done. My only complaint that I wish there were more of them.
Anyhow, we then walked over to the Children's Zoo where Andrew played on the playscape. Andrew wanted to see the snakes, but at that time, the Reptile House (which is probably Mommy's least favorite part of the zoo) wasn't open yet. So, we instead headed over to Natural Encounters (which is probably Mommy's favorite part of the zoo--next to the elephants, that is.) in the mean time. It was after ten o'clock so we made our way back to the Reptile House. Not only did Andrew get to see all his little "slimy" creatures, but he also got to see his adorable little friend and neighbor, Emily, who was there with Donnie. We chatted while the kids checked out the animals.
It just so happened that the zoo was participating in the celebration of World's Ocean Day. They were handing out paper crowns and One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish activity books, of which Andrew was only interested in the book.
Then, it was time to leave, but not after a train ride with Daddy first. It was a great way to start the weekend!
