This afternoon, we went to a sneak peek at the newly renovated Children's Museum of Houston. Luckily, I was talking to Belinda and she mentioned that she saw a friend who had gone to the museum earlier today. She thought it was for the sneak peek. I had totally forgotten all about it, especially the date. I had gotten the invite and meant to RSVP, but with all the party preparations...you know the rest. Anyway, I called the museum; and they had one more session open that we could attend. Whew!
We quickly got ready and headed over the museum. It was so awesome! It was pretty cool before, but now, it is so much better. We walked through this whole new section called Kidtropolis for older kids that I can't wait for Andrew to play in. Most of it was too advanced for Drew, but one section that he could play in was the grocery store where they have a bunch of fake groceries that you can pick and ring out.
We then proceeded to the new TotSpot, which was age appropriate for our little boy. He was totally giddy in the zone. There was so much that he wanted to do that he just walked around and around going from thing to thing. It was too cute! He did try to play with a few kids, but everyone was really friendly. They had put in a lot of cool stuff for the little ones like these spinning flower things and a big version of Lite Brite. We also took him to the outside balcony where they had different things for the kids to ride and a hopscotch board. Afterwards, we went to check out the new Flow Works exhibit. It's a little old for Andrew, but he was able to put his hands in the water and play with some boats. We quickly walked through some other exhibits just to peruse before we had to leave to get some dinner.
They did an amazing job. I highly recommend it. I know Andrew will have fun here for years to come and I am already looking forward to taking him back.
