Houston Zoo with the Buchhorns

The Buchhorns were in town for the week and asked if we could meet up with this morning. They suggested either the Children's Museum or the zoo. I thought the museum might be crammed pack so we suggested the zoo. I knew it was going to be hot, but recommended that we meet up at 9am when they opened and told them about the splash pad where we could cool off.

We took them around the zoo hitting most of our normal hot spots like the aquarium, Natural Encounters (the girls loved the water tunnel), the elephants, and the African Forest. Then, we let the kids loose in the splash pad and they had a lot of fun getting wet and getting out of the heat.

After, we walked over to the Children's Zoo and the kids played on the playground and did the petting zoo. We ended the morning with snow cones and a walk through the dinosaurs, which Rebecca seemed to really like as she is very into dinosaurs.

We called it a day and went to lunch at Ruggles and then came back to our house to rest and hang. Then, we had dinner at Chuy's and after, they headed back to their hotel down in Clear Lake.

It was wonderful getting to spend time with them all and the girls were very sweet to Andrew again. Of course, James and I enjoyed being able to talk and catch up with Brad and Laura.
