Farewell Miss Nellie

Tonight, we had to say farewell to Miss Nellie, the Gymboree employee who works Thursday nights when we go to open gym. Andrew is so fond of Miss Nellie--and so am I. Anytime, I tell Andrew we are going to open gym, he will say "Nellie". And sometimes, when we walk into Gymboree, he will run up to hug her. And he usually would hug her goodbye or give her knuckles.

She's always been so nice to us throughout our time at Gymboree. It's funny because we have seen her a couple of times at the Galleria. First, it was at the Gymboree clothing store as she was promoting the Gymboree classes. And even back then when we didn't know her all that well, she was so sweet to Andrew. She gave him some Gymbo stickers. And another time, we saw her at Macy's when she was waiting for her interview at Nordstrom. And that's why she's leaving us. Between going to college at UH and working at Nordstrom, it was really hard for her to keep the job at Gymboree.

Anyhow, we will miss her Thursday nights, but we know that we will see her again. We have already talked about her babysitting Andrew in case my parents can't or just so Andrew can see her again. I told him that Nellie wasn't going to be at Gymboree anymore (I don't think he quite understood). But I asked him if he wanted her to come play with him at our house and he said yes.

So, it's not goodbye, but more like until next time...we love you, Miss Nellie!
