Sunday in Dallas

Andrew woke up really early this morning. Daddy was very kind and took Andrew out on a walk so I could sleep in. Andrew wanted to play with MyaThey went to CVS for some medicine and juice.

After we all woke up, we got ready and drove out to Arlington to meet Aunt Hoa and Uncle Quang at a pho restaurant. Andrew usually enjoys his fried rice, but didn't eat too much this morning. I don't think he felt like eating. But I ended up spooning him quite a lot of pho broth--at least, it was something.

Then, we walked over to their little shopping area and grabbed some Cafe Sua Da, a sweet coffee drink that we all love. We also grabbed some items to eat later too since they looked so delicious and fresh.

Andrew wasn't doing much better so we thought it might be better not to go to the Aquarium. Instead we wanted to do something a little more low key and David and Dina suggested a trolley ride. We figured that Andrew would love it so we took them up on their suggestion. And even better, Mya would be able to go on the ride with us!! We drove down to the trolley stop near their old apartment and the trolley had just arrived at the stop. Perfect timing! We boarded and Andrew was so excited. He looked all over the troller and out the window. The ride was fairly long, but Andrew didn't seem to mind. He was a happy camper!

As we drove back to David's, Andrew fell asleep in the car. We spent the rest of the afternoon watching football while he continued to nap. James went back and forth about what to do about the ride home and when to head back to Houston. We were so worried that Andrew was going to throw up in the car, which he can do especially on long car rides. We decided that we would have an early dinner and let Andrew digest for at least an hour before we took off for Houston. So, we walked to a nearby Mexican seafood restaurant that allowed dogs on the patio. Andrew was adamant about walking Mya on her lease. He held on tight and Mya was really good about not pulling too hard. She totally outweighs Andrew and could have really taken off on him, but didn't. At the restaurant, Andrew ate tortilla soup, shredded cheese, and tres leches cake.

After dinner, we walked back and relaxed while we finished packing. We were finally comfortable with how much time had past for Andrew to digest the food. We left a little after 8pm. Andrew was really good in the car. He fell asleep with no problem around 9pm. I had to stop for gas and he woke up a little, but fell back asleep.

We had such a terrific time in Dallas with David and Dina. They showed us a great time. I am glad we got to finally visit them. And it was great hanging out with Albert and getting to see Aunt Hoa and Uncle Quang. We will definitely have to make another visit one of these days! Thanks to everyone who spent time with us and for everything they did, especially our gracious hosts!
