When Anh Thu and I had talked about what we wanted to do while we were in Vegas, I didn't really care too much except for one thing. I said if there was still snow, I thought Andrew would love to try sledding.
Last night, Anh Thu had done a bit of research online and found that there had been some recent snowfall at the place they took the kids sledding before. So, we headed to Mount Charleston this morning. It was not even a 45 minute drive from their house.
Once we got there, we put all the snow gear on. It was hilarious seeing Andrew in all the bulky clothes--all of Brennan's old snow attire which fit perfectly!!
Crazy enough, there was a lot of snow. I tried to walk in it and just sunk down to my thighs!? Since Andrew is so light, he was able to just walk on top of the snow. The kids all had such a great time. Cara totally climbed way high and came down pretty fast. Emma had a few medium runs and Brennan had a few light runs. At first, we let Andrew do very short runs to test the waters and he seemed to like it. So, we took him a little higher and a little higher even more. He did a couple of runs with Anh Thu and the girls. He had such a big smile every time he came down. And later, he realized that he didn't need a sled to slide down the mountain and would just slide on his butt!!
One of the other major highlights of the morning was seeing Ngoai go on two runs herself!! We laughed so hard and my mom didn't totally hate it either!! ;) I was proud of her for trying especially since the cold and snow aren't her cup of tea.
Then, we had some hot chocolate before playing some more. Then it was time to head back for some lunch. We had such a blast and I am glad that Andrew got to go sledding for the first time. We both can't wait until the next time...though, who knows when that will be!?
