It was funny because when we first entered, he said he was all done. I don't know if he was scared or just wanted to move onto other parts of the zoo. But we walked through it and Andrew was fine. He looked at the dinosaurs happily and didn't complain anymore.
Then, we walked over to the Children's Zoo and Andrew said he wanted to ride the carousel. I pondered if he would pull the same stunt and say "all done" as soon as we got on it. But lo and behold, not only did he not say it, but he said he wanted to ride an animal and actually rode the snake from the get-go (I don't know why he had to pick the snake though). He really is growing up and facing his fears!!
We went through some more of the zoo like the Elephant House (where we watched them bathe one), Reptile House, and Natural Encounters, but as the day worn on, it was beginning to get hotter and hotter. We decided it was time to call it a day.
But Andrew kept asking for the train. So, we let him ride it train since he hadn't ridden it in a while. Daddy rode with him while Mom got to sit quietly by the pond and just relax. Then, we went to a Japanese restaurant where Andrew had fun practicing using chopsticks with a little help. It was fun to see him try to grab food with him. He got it sometimes, but he still had lots of trouble closing the sticks tight enough onto the food.
