Saturday in San Antonio

This morning, we went to meet Uncle Brian, Aunt Sally, Chance, and Brandon at Las Palapas for breakfast before Chance's t-ball game. We hadn't seen them in forever so it was so nice to get to sit down and catch up. We were running a little late to breakfast so we didn't get to spend as much as time as we liked with them so we decided to tag along with them to the game so we can visit with them more as well as watch Chance in action.

Andrew wasn't too into the game so I took him to the nearby playscape. We stayed there for a bit, but then he caught sight of a snow cone. After that, he kept asking for one. It was getting hot out there so I thought it might be a good refreshment to keep him cool. Of course, he wanted a green one--sour apple. We took it over back to Daddy and hung there while he ate it. He ate about a fourth of it and then was done with it and wanted to go back to the playground. Daddy took him this time so I could talk with Aunt Sally for a bit.

After the game, we went over to their house to pick up two discounted tickets to Sea World that one of their friends was selling (score!). Andrew loved nplaying with the boys' toys especially Chance's train table. And we got even more time to just hang out with Brian and Sally like we used to.

However, we didn't get to stay too long. We needed to drive over to the house of a family friend, Dr. Lance Jackson. Lance is also an ENT of whom we asked his opinion of Andrew's surgery back in February. We wanted to get his take on possibly taking out his tonsils. After his examination, he said that Andrew's tonsils weren't too enlarged that he would be hesitant to remove them. He thought the nasal spray might be a good treatment. After we chatted for a bit, we went back to Nonna's house for lunch and a nap.

After Andrew woke up from his nap, we took Andrew back to the subdivision pool. Andrew started letting us hold him again in the water as if to let him practice swimming. I am so relieved he's finally getting more comfortable back in the water again! It seemed like it was taking such a long time to get him where he was last year.

Then, we cleaned up for 5:30 mass at Holy Spirit where we met up with Aunt Janine and her family. Andrew was totally into Stephanie and Thomas as always. He immediately grabbed their hands to try to get them to play trains with them. Andrew also did some really good sharing with two little girls who were sitting near us. He gave them each two and for a while, they all played together. Later on, he even tried to give them more. I was very proud of him.

After church, we went for dinner at Ilsong, a Korean restaurant. It was really good and Andrew totally agreed. He devoured some Yaki Mandu, which were these yummy beef dumplings. Then, when the rest of our food came out, he loudly yelled "meat, more meat" for which the owner was glad to hear. Andrew ate quite a bit of the kalbi and rice. He loves Korean food just as much as his parents and extended family!! Stephanie, Thomas, and Stephanie's friend, Colleen, were very sweet to Andrew playing with him throughout dinner. Andrew was having a good time.

Next, we drove back to Nonna's house to hang out and have a little bit of homemade dessert of brownies and cinnamon coffee cake. Delicious!! Andrew, of course, wanted all the kids to play trains with him too. The girls spent lots of time looking at old pictures, which was contagious because before you know it, Nonna, Aunt Janine, and Mommy were looking at them too getting all nostaglic. I love old photos.

What a great day we had! It was nice being with friends and family. We appreciate everyone taking the time out to spend some time with us!! We feel very loved!!

And tomorrow...Sea World!! Can't wait!
