This morning, we took the subway headed for Cheonggyecheon Stream It's a little stream in the middle of Downtown similar to the Riverwalk in San Antonio. We had read it was prettier at night, but we only had one more night in Seoul and we had other plans.
The stream was nice and we liked the waterfalls. We decided to walk around and head over to another shopping district called Namdaemun Market before heading home. This flea market was mainly clothes and bags...lots of knockoff bags! But it was nice to look around and we also got Andrew a coloring book of Poli, the Robocar. It's a Korean cartoon show similar to Transformer Rescue Bots that Andrew has seen on TV here.
After, we stopped by the hotel to see how Dad was doing and if he wanted to join us for lunch. He still wasn't feeling well so we went ahead without him. We went back to Times Square and ate at the mall food court. I wanted to go back to E Mart to let Andrew pick out a toy as his souvenir from Korea and Mom wanted to pick up some items for Dad.
Andrew said he wanted something with Poli the Robocar and was eyeing the transforming toys. I told him he could pick two of them if he wanted. There are four in all: a police car, fire truck, ambulance, and helicopter. He had such a hard time picking. So, he of course, asks if we would buy him all four and save the other two for Christmas. I can't believe he is negotiating Christmas gifts already! Anyways, we decide to get all four since it would be hard to buy them back in the States (I had already checked foreseeing that he might pick them).
We then went back to the hotel to rest. I knew Andrew wouldn't take a nap. But we had to leave for the Han River Ferry Cruise soon anyhow. We set out for the 410pm cruise. There was a 530pm one that I would have liked to do to experience the sunset and the bridges at night, but that would put us back too late for dinner. But the 410pm still gave us a nice setting sun and it was really nice out--not too cold at all so that was a plus.
We all enjoyed the boat ride especially Andrew who loved taking pictures of the city and the trains going across the bridges. The main sights that I took photos of were N Seoul Tower, Building 63, the National Assembly Building, and our hotel. The tour lasted around an hour on the water. It was a nice little excursion and I am glad we got to do it.
